Chocolate Chia Pudding

This chia pudding is Hammie's absolute favorite, and we both love sharing it for breakfast! It's creamy, chocolatey, and full of omega-3s from chia seeds, making it a super nutritious start to the day. Plus, it's completely vegan and so versatile—you can top it with fresh berries or banana slices for a little extra goodness. If your little one prefers a smoother texture, you can also blend the pudding to make it silky and creamy.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 Tbsp cacao powder or unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 ½ - 2 ½ Tbsp maple syrup (depending on your sweetness preference)

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon (optional)

  • 1 small pinch sea salt

  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

  • 4 oz oat milk (1/2 cup)

  • 2 Tbsp chia seeds

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the cacao powder, maple syrup, cinnamon (if using), sea salt, and vanilla extract until smooth.

  2. Gradually whisk in the oat milk until well combined.

  3. Stir in the chia seeds and ensure they’re evenly distributed.

  4. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight, so the chia seeds absorb the liquid and thicken the pudding.

  5. Stir before serving, and top with fresh berries or banana slices—our favorite way to enjoy it!

  6. Optional: If the texture of chia seeds isn’t for you, blend the mixture after it thickens for a smooth, creamy pudding.

This recipe is perfect for a quick and healthy breakfast or dessert. We both love how customizable it is, and it's always a tasty way to start the day!
